  • The Australian Physiotherapy Association defines a physiotherapist as those that “...help you get the most out of life. They help you recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, increase mobility and prevent further injury. They listen to your needs to tailor a treatment specific to your condition.”

  • You can expect that the physio will:

    • Listen and take your history of your pain point or condition

    • Do a physical examination to narrow down the sources of your pain point or condition

    • Provide specific advice and treatments

    Advice may include:

    • What to do

    • What not to do

    • Treatment plan

  • Treatments will consist of educating the athlete on their condition and advising what to do about it and what NOT to do about it.

    Treatment may include:

    • Education about the condition/diagnosis

    • Manual therapy

    • Soft tissue work (i.e. massage)

    • Dry needling

    • Joint mobilisations/manipulations

    • Exercise based therapy

  • No, however if you have seen a doctor prior to your first physio consult, it may be helpful for you bring in any forms or images that your doctor has given to you.

  • Please bring any scans/referrals or reports given from your doctor or specialist

    You will also need to bring your health fund card.

    If there is a specific area that needs to be examined (e.g. knees), please come in appropriate clothing so the affected area is easily accessible.

    Lastly, if you currently have or use braces, straps or other equipment to help relieve the pain, bring them in.

  • This depends on your private health insurance you choose AND level of cover.

    As an example, NIB basic insurance covers 60% for their physio consults. That means the gap will be 40% of your physio consult.

  • Medicare has a program called Chronic Disease Management plan (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care plan (EPC). These sessions were designed by reduce the barrier of entry for participants that have ongoing chronic pain and disease.

    If you have been given this referral, with our practitioner/practice name, then Medicare will cover for $55.10 of your physio consult, leaving you with just a gap payment. To claim the rebate we ask that you pay the full amount for the session upfront, then the rebate can occur via online claiming or through swiping your medicare card. When the latter option is chosen, you should receive the rebate into your account immediately.

  • It works almost the same as if you were coming in face to face - the only difference is that the treatment will always involve exercise based therapy.

  • We are located inside the PCYC Auburn building on Church Street (at the very end of the street) and there is parking available on-site. Alternatively, we are a 14 minute walk from Lidcombe Station.
